Metro Atlanta Dachshund Meet-up Group (MAD MUG)
is a growing group of dachshund enthusiasts. We meet once a month for "play dates", socializing and networking.
Our mission is to continue membership growth by promoting our great group to others we come into contact. We also want to give back to the community through various philantropic actvities.

Now that the 2009 year is behind us we look forward to a VERY EXCITING 2010! Not only will we have the Findlay Races, we will also have circuit races throughout the country that will make The National Dachshund Races the KING of all race events and hopefully our goal is to STOP the poorly run Dachshund Races that are held in areas of this country that unfortunately ARE geared for profit and NOT the safety of our fine companions!
Thank you for being a part of The National Dachshund Races and we look forward to seeing you at all of our events in 2010! I will not let the proverbial "cat out of the bag yet" as Toni Gossard, Founder, National Dachshund Races, will scream however we are in negotiations on a venue for the "Champion of Champions" that will be mind boggling! DREAM Dachshund Rescue
We are an all-donation supported, all-volunteer rescue for dachshunds and dachshund mixes. We focus on dogs and homes in our geographical area - Atlanta, North Georgia, and Savannah.
There are thousands of rescue groups in the U.S., and probably a hundred focused on dachshunds. We still cannot save them all. The problem is too large: too many breeders, too many petstores, too many puppymills. Where you get your next dog matters. Do the math.
Georgia Dachshund Races
We are in our first year organizing the races, still learning!! The races will be an annual event to support DREAM Dachshund Rescue. We are voluntees. The Georgia Dachshund Races is hosted by the Metro Atlanta Dachshund Meetup Group.
Proceeds from the Races go directly to
DREAM Dachshund Rescue,
a nonprofit 501-c3 group.
The Georgia Winners will be invited to race for the
National Dachshund Races Championship.
We do not promote racing for profit, only the thrill of the excitement to watch your Doxie participate in challenging other Doxies. Please enjoy yourself at all events you go to and make sure you and your Doxie stay safe!
